Genetics: Blue Dream x Star Dawg

Blue Dream (Blueberry/Super Silver Haze) x Star Dawg

Blue Dream, a sativa-dominant hybrid originating in California, has achieved legendary status among West Coast strains. Crossing a Blueberry indica with the sativa Haze, Blue Dream balances full-body relaxation with gentle cerebral invigoration. Novice and veteran consumers alike enjoy the level effects of Blue Dream, which ease you gently into a calm euphoria. Some Blue Dream phenotypes express a more indica-like look and feel, but the sativa-leaning variety remains most prevalent.

With a sweet berry aroma redolent of its Blueberry parent, Blue Dream delivers swift symptom relief without heavy sedative effects. This makes Blue Dream a popular daytime medicine for patients treating pain, depression, nausea, and other ailments requiring a high THC strain. – Leafy

Dream Catcher is the first pack of seeds that I purchased from Green Point. Always looking for a good blue dream hybrid I felt that I could not go wrong with a crossing of it and stardawg. I popped 10 seeds at %100 germination rate with no mutants or problematic plants. In fact, Dream Catcher was the first to do everything. First to germinate, first to develop true leaves and sexed as fast as the Amnesia Hashplant seeds I sprouted as well.
Although all of the plants exhibited strong sativa lineage, nice stout trunks developed quickly as well as many side branches and shoots. I planted two females with two very distinct aromas. One of the other sisters was grown by a family friend who claims his plant was identical to a blue dream clone he had grown years ago. Of the two I planted, one ended up a spitting image of Blue Dream with purple leaved buds and nice fat calyx all covered in trichromes. The other plant finished with green buds however the same fat calyx and immense resin production. Very fast to start flowering and out of 18 plants the 3rd and 4th to come down around the end of September. I do however wish I had taken both plants down around mid September. Early samples proved that the buds were developed and ready for heady goodness. Decent resistance to mold, however worms attacked this year and no plant was spared that was still outside come the end of September. No powdery mildew what so ever! Trimming was easy due to the high calyx to leaf ratio, and the fact that most leaves on the buds were covered in a blanket of trichromes. The purple plant has a distinct and attractive blueberry aroma that is perpetuated by a slight pepper tone, a light chem fuel aftertaste leaving an aromatic haze incense in the air after consumed. The effects of the purple plant were heavy on the euphoric, hypnotic and dreamy. While I have not had these girls tested, I guess that the THC is well above 18%. The green plant grew very similar to the purple leaning a little more towards the stardawg in structure. Very striking almost golden flowers covered the green plant. Very easy to trim with the same great calyx to leaf ratio and super trichrome coverage. A really chem funky fuel driven aroma with a nice blueberry accent. Leaving behind in the air a combo of sharp lemons, lavender, light pepper, ginger and hash. The effects of the green plant are quick and heavy. Not really couch lock, however great for relaxing and having conversations with family and friends or being entertained. Gorgeous flowers from each plant and a heavy yield to complete the package. By far the best Blue Dream hybrid I have tried. After seeing the quality and strength of these plants I want to get my hands on all of the Stardawg crosses.

very good strain the buds come out looking beautiful the blue dream leaning phenos have a very long flowering time and a decent amount of stretch for a hybrid but the end taste is totally worth it.
